Hi guys, how have you all been doing? Sorry to my Sitiawan friends whom I’ve lost contact with. Have been occupied with studies and other things I suppose.

It’s been a really long time since the last update. What can I say? The first year of medical school went by just too fast. TOO FAST. A cliche but, TIME FLIES and I am quite lost for words. But in short, I’ve gained knowledge, experience, insight, and finally friends whom will remain being friends long after graduation.

It feels so unreal that my first year is done, provided that I pass. A quick summary of what happened this year. I shall keep it as short and sweet as I can..

Well, my first step in med school begun with the letter H. My first PCL group. It really took me awhile to belong in the group. I was what you would say, a somewhat social outcast, anti-social, lone-wolf. But in the end, I loved this group. It made me realized that in life or in the medical school at least, going through this ‘journey’ in life alone is definitely not the solution. CONNECTEDNESS is key! It was sad that I was hiding in my shell for a long time.

A special note of Jin Ern, the holy man of med school. He is as perfect as a human can be I believe. His unconditional kindness and patience, will make Glenn look like one of us, if you know what I meant. He does not use any profanity. His swear word is CRAP. He made me realized, ok, he told me, that life is about choices. Make the right ones and you’ll be happy. So Mr Tan, the whole med school is happy that you and you know who are together now, I think. *sneaky sneaky*

“Shave me, Save me” event which aimed to raise funds for the children cancer association of Malaysia as well as awareness. It was for a good cause, so why not? Three or four girls volunteered to have their heads shaved. Come on guys, if girls can do it, why not guys? I really look up to the three girls who shaved their heads. Respect respect. Good job MuMeds for making the event a success.

Went to Segamat to learn more about the health care provided in a rural setting. Pretty good experience I would say.

For Sem 2, we were required to do somewhat like an extra co-curicular activity called as Selectives. Basically, do something that may or may not be related to medicine. This was to broaden our experience and knowledge and not too be too focused on BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS I believe.

Hello people… Well, I’ve moved into my new place in Palmville Condos in Bandar Sunway.. Haven’t been doing anything at all this whole boring week… Played pool yesterday and today and cc-ed a few times to kill time though…But, I did settle a few tasks this week ;buying a modem for streamyx and waiting for people from panasonic to fit in and repair a few items…Orientation will begin the day after tomorrow, on Monday… Somewhat excited yet anxious about it…New place, new people, new environment..Uni life and five long years of studying begins on Monday, I suppose..

Just received an e-mail from Monash regarding orientation week..I’ll be going on a three days two nights transition camp which will be located outside of Monash Uni.. But I already know where I’ll be going, thanks to Daksha… The camp will be held somewhere in Port Dickson.. Activities include jungle trekking and some relaxation exercises… I haven’t jungle trek since I was in primary school and I don’t have proper shoes laa… It’s either my nike free or tennis shoes… Both aren’t suitable…susah la like that.. T.T 

Sigh, don’t know what to type already… No photos to put up , nothing much to share at all…Oh, I went for a haircut in Pyramid this afternoon..The barber shop is called “Trim N Shave Barber Salon” located in front of the basement parking… It basically a normal Indian barber shop…I know, for all places in Pyramid, why go there… The reason being, I will not pay like 30 plus bucks to cut something off which eventually grows back.. Yes, I’m cheap but then again, I wanted a simple haircut, something decent and easily maintained..Ok lah, I am cheap but paying 12 bucks for an indian barber haircut in pyramid is pretty reasonable in my opinion.. And the end result, I’m pleased with my haircut but during the haircut, I was like , ” oh shit, oh shit, oh shit x 100 times”…Simply because I had to take off my glasses, thus I can’t see myself in the mirror and the speed the barber was cutting my hair, I was super worried..but thankfully, my hair turned out just fine… *sigh of relief* 

Coming up next week, orientation week and transition camp… Should be an interesting week… ciao…

So well, it has been ages since I last updated.. I’ve been back in Sitiawan since last November after completing MUFY  ( thank god that is over…..) and have been lazing around since then… Life’s been relaxing and bored so far… Eat, sleep, play, eat, sleep, shiat, watch tv *cycle continues* …. Nothing good last forever and nothing bad either…I’m sure my life is gonna get a whole lot more interesting  torturous starting March when uni finally starts… Kinda have mixed feelings about going uni… A part of me can’t wait to defrost my brain, the lazier part of me wanna just lay down on my comfy bed and watch Monk and other series and wait for lunch/dinner…

Anyways, Happy Chinese New Year to my fellow yellow-skins… Wishing you a prosperous year and may all your dreams come true.. wtf, so corny…

Well, went back to Taiping Bandar Warisan on Sunday for the reunion dinner…  Arrived there about 5.30 pm and left around 12.50 am and reached home sweet home at 2 am… I drove, pretty quick I guess.. A little over an hour from Taiping back to Sitiawan…Some pics…..

We usually give ang pow at the strike of midnight..Don’t ask why… The Goh’s  tradition? So what happened was, my mum was giving ang pow to the same kid.. And he replied so freaking innocently in hokkien, ” wa uh liao r… wa gia liao! mai liao…”

1. A Northern Chinese dialect (heavily influenced by non Han Chinese) that was elevated to the status of National Language by Sun Yat Sen for the sake of China ’s national unity.

2. Mandarin was never spoken by your proud, imperial Tang Dynasty ancestors. It was probably spoken by the Northern (Non-Han) Jurchen, Mongols and Manchu minority. Start speaking the language of your ancestors today.

Well, it’s time for a change…If you have not noticed, I’ve change the theme of my blog but the layout is basically the same..Now, all I need is the inspiration for my new header…. Fianlly, going to  use my Mac to  design new header and not use it for chatting and watching movies/series..As said by a random guy in the internet, ” What is the point of having such a powerful machine, when you use it for chat? “

I was damn nervous last night , so nervous that I couldn’t sleep. I slept at around 3 and woke up at around 9. Why? Because today is the day I receive my results for my second semester.

Well, what is a dslr? dslr stands for digital single lens reflex…Hmm…some Phy B light terms coming into play now.. So, parallel light rays from a distant/infinity, travel through a convex lens and are converge to a mirror which reflect upwards into a prism called pentaprism…Light is totally internally reflected and travel to the viewfinder.. Concept is rather simple huh? So when you take a shot, the mirror will flip upwards and the light rays will focus to a single point as the shutter (blue) opens that exposes the digital sensor (red) to light..

Why dslr? It’s just so damn bloody cool…. Played with my friend’s Nikon D40 when we were at klcc and at stadium putra for the showdown of champions [will blog about that later,probably]….  Not just that, it takes super sharp and clear photos…and btw, you see professional photographers using dslr and not some wussy campact digital camera with like 10 MP…

So I’ve shortlisted the dslr that i think is suitable for me and is in the ‘price range’…

Hmmm… I really do not know… So far, I’ve seen plenty of people using Nikon dslr..I see that common black and yellow camera strap everywhere during the exhibition in kl… If I were to get one, probably I’ll get olympus but olympus dslr isn’t that popular huh? why olympus? for 2.5K, you’ll get 2 lenses…

after all this research, the question that pops up in my head is, “Do I really need a dslr camera? “

It’s finally done… final paper was on last friday… Overall, exams were alright, except for phy A… didn’t expect the questions to be so challenging… but what the heck, i’m happy i’m done with MUFY… urgh… have roughly 2.5 months to chill before going to uni.. Kinda worried about my finals results which will be released on the 11th of Dec… hope i did enough… otherwise, i’m literally lost… wouldn’t know which course to go for… ah well, had been relaxing for the past few days… had been swimming, playing pool , wow-ing (still a noob.. sad case) , sc-ing and watching tv series like Despo Housewives, house, family guy, south park and american dad…

oh…i’m going to watch roger federer play in stadium putra, bukit jalil… He is OK…he got his rest after shanghai and he said he is 100% fit..so yeah you buggers who said federer wont be coming, he’s coming… can’t wait for tomorrow.. it’s gonna be a great night for tennis.. i hope it doesn’t rain though… has been raining off and on in sunway for the past few days… should be alright….

hmmm..moving out on this wednesday.. finally moving out of this hell hole… don’t get me wrong, the hostel amenities are good, it’s the people who stay in the unit with you makes that makes it a home or just a hostel… take for example, my sri lankans housemates, they would bring back like 5 of their friends until the early hours of the morning and literally, all hell breaks loose.. you can heard them laughing extremely loudly, running around the unit and one will be spraying water from the shower and the other would be shielding himself with an umbrella… don’t ask me why.. those crazy buggers… and just recently, a black guy moved in… you know what people say.. black guys just love their music… he turns it on LOUD until the wee hours of the morning….probably to drown the noise the sri lankans are making….

with that said, i’m so happy to move out…. XD and can’t wait to be back home….
