i want a dslr cam…

Well, what is a dslr? dslr stands for digital single lens reflex…Hmm…some Phy B light terms coming into play now.. So, parallel light rays from a distant/infinity, travel through a convex lens and are converge to a mirror which reflect upwards into a prism called pentaprism…Light is totally internally reflected and travel to the viewfinder.. Concept is rather simple huh? So when you take a shot, the mirror will flip upwards and the light rays will focus to a single point as the shutter (blue) opens that exposes the digital sensor (red) to light..

Why dslr? It’s just so damn bloody cool…. Played with my friend’s Nikon D40 when we were at klcc and at stadium putra for the showdown of champions [will blog about that later, probably]….  Not just that, it takes super sharp and clear photos…and btw, you see professional photographers using dslr and not some wussy campact digital camera with like 10 MP…

So I’ve shortlisted the dslr that i think is suitable for me and is in the ‘price range’…

-Nikon D60 @ RM 2,288 released 29-01-08
Key features :10.2 megapixels, dust control, small and light

- Olympus E420 @ RM2,499 released May 2008
[E420 TLK (ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 & ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mm F4.0-5.6) ]
Key features :10 megapixels, dust control, face detection, expanded dynamic range

- Canon Rebel XS (D1000) @ RM1,999 released August 2008
Key features :10 megapixels, dust control, live view

Hmmm… I really do not know… So far, I’ve seen plenty of people using Nikon dslr..I see that common black and yellow camera strap everywhere during the exhibition in kl… If I were to get one, probably I’ll get olympus but olympus dslr isn’t that popular huh? why olympus? for 2.5K, you’ll get 2 lenses…

after all this research, the question that pops up in my head is, “Do I really need a dslr camera? “

the prodigal son returns….on wed…

It’s finally done… final paper was on last friday… Overall, exams were alright, except for phy A… didn’t expect the questions to be so challenging… but what the heck, i’m happy i’m done with MUFY… urgh… have roughly 2.5 months to chill before going to uni.. Kinda worried about my finals results which will be released on the 11th of Dec… hope i did enough… otherwise, i’m literally lost… wouldn’t know which course to go for… ah well, had been relaxing for the past few days… had been swimming, playing pool , wow-ing (still a noob.. sad case) , sc-ing and watching tv series like Despo Housewives, house, family guy, south park and american dad…

oh…i’m going to watch roger federer play in stadium putra, bukit jalil… He is OK…he got his rest after shanghai and he said he is 100% fit..so yeah you buggers who said federer wont be coming, he’s coming… can’t wait for tomorrow.. it’s gonna be a great night for tennis.. i hope it doesn’t rain though… has been raining off and on in sunway for the past few days… should be alright….

hmmm..moving out on this wednesday.. finally moving out of this hell hole… don’t get me wrong, the hostel amenities are good, it’s the people who stay in the unit with you makes that makes it a home or just a hostel… take for example, my sri lankans housemates, they would bring back like 5 of their friends until the early hours of the morning and literally, all hell breaks loose.. you can heard them laughing extremely loudly, running around the unit and one will be spraying water from the shower and the other would be shielding himself with an umbrella… don’t ask me why.. those crazy buggers… and just recently, a black guy moved in… you know what people say.. black guys just love their music… he turns it on LOUD until the wee hours of the morning….probably to drown the noise the sri lankans are making….

with that said, i’m so happy to move out…. XD and can’t wait to be back home….

copied and pasted…again..

10. (a) 4    (b) 2     (c) 3     (d) 5     (e) 6     (f) 1

Now add up the total number of points.

OVER 60 POINTS :  Others see you as someone they should ‘handle with care.’ You’re seen as vain, self-centered, and who is extremely dominant.  Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don’t always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you.

51 TO 60 POINTS :  Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, who’s quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones.  They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure.  They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.

41 TO 50 POINTS :  Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who’s constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well balanced not to let it go to their head.  They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who’ll always cheer them up and help them out. [ haha.. so proud of myself ]

31 TO 40 POINTS :  Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical.  They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest.  Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who’s extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return.  Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

21 TO 30 POINTS:  Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy.  They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder.  It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then, usually decide against it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.

UNDER 21 POINTS :  People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions & who doesn’t want to get involved with anyone or anything!  They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don’t exist.  Some people think you’ re boring.  Only those who know you well know that you aren’t.

Life…

Warning: kinda emo post…

So, a couple of nights ago, after studying physics for like three hours (no,I’m not that hardworking…There was a test the following day and the three hours of revising wasn’t very useful..phy test was a biatch) until 1 something in the morning , I decided to sleep..I wasn’t really tired though…So I laid on my bed, tossing and turning…Finally,I stopped and stared at the ceiling for like an hour…On that day,I was told by a friend that one of my classmates last semester had passed away.. He died rather gruesomely in a car accident..I don’t want to say much…It was so sudden..He was on the way back to Ipoh last Friday for the weekend and it happened.. life’s short…

That got me thinking…One of the greatest unanswered question in the universe ( yeah,I watch too much programmes on the discovery channel) , why are we here? what is life?why do we feel angry, sad, happy, nervous, love, lust, contented, greedy, and the list goes on… why do we bother to strive so hard to succeed in life but in the end, all will be lost? Why don’t we just kick back, relax and watch the world go by? And to be honest,I don’t know the answer…I guess that’s the way life goes…Either leave the world with an open heart or a discontented one.. You have only one life..Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever..Appreciate life.. Try your best and you’ll not regret…You’ll never know what will happen tomorrow or the day after tomorrow… At the end of the day, pick out the good stuff and throw the bad stuff away…( I swear I’ve heard this line in a movie or something) There’s no point of recalling what bad things other people had done to you,it’ll just make you feel more bitter inside…No point in feeling hatred in short..Unlike someone I know…hint~ blub blub…you know who you are…

well, life can be cruel at times but rewarding at times…sigh…

ending with a quote from a movie…

“Yesterday is history…Tomorrow’s a mystery and today is a gift..That’s why it’s called present…”

Stay gold you all…stay gold….

hahah….(wtf man…study too much d…)

A quickie…

So well,August is coming to an end,September is nearing..I know this may sound cliche but time does fly, doesn’t it? Remember what was going on this time last year? We were having our SPM trials… Fast eh? That was a year ago…I still remember sleeping at three in the morning regularly before trials, going out for supper with ah Gong,Jun Biao, JacoD and not forgetting our long lost friend in Australia, ‘Big Head’ Chiah.. I’ve been back since last Friday for my one week term break.. See? Times flies, seven days ‘flew away’ just like that…. Going back to my Fortress of not-so-Solitude tomorrow with some of my untouched homework……… I finished maths and physics…at least anyways..

Second semester in college is rather stressful… I’m taking five units this sem compared to only three last sem… My class ends at 2.45 pm everyday during my first sem but now, my class ends at 4.00 pm everyday..So,kinda hectic la… And no thanks to Moral Studies, kinda tough if compared to Malaysian Studies (basically, it’s history in English.. Didn’t touch too much on islam though.. and btw, I got a distinction in Malaysian Studies *feeling proud, not really* I was surprise when I saw my result actually…) We have to carry out a group project, prepare a log book for group meetings and a ‘personal’ journal for out homework… Two stupid subjects that the government has implemented in hopes of either troubling non-bumis or to foster patriotism.. I guess the former sounds more logical…

Maths and Physics A are okay for now… Didn’t really learn anything new yet… Chemistry lessons are now really interesting as we have a new hawt hot lecturer are learning about chemical bonding… Physics B lecturer,Mr Chan Chee Keen/Kean? , is really funny guy…A serious looking but funny guy and yes, he looks a bit weird like other physics teachers..I don’t need to mention names right? haha.. He’s like the hybrid of Tan Hack Sek , Pang Yat Huah and Botak Leong… We nicknamed him Uncle Chan btw… Pretty cool guy in fact… Eng B sucks big time… There aren’t many assessments like the first sem ( I would really like to redo all my assessments than doing Eng B) but we have a research paper which is due like 5 weeks from now.. It’s a real pain in the butt…I chose a somewhat uncommon topic so it’s hard for me to gather info….Hmmmm…. The usual, frequent tests and quiz.. Homework..

I realised something gained enlightenment recently… A simple problem with a rather simple solution…

Problem : You want something/one really badly or you are looking for something/one desperately… More often that not, you will not get or find what you want…( no,this does not apply to knowledge/studies, Jun Biao …This scenario can only be applied to certain things…not all )

True story, at the beginning of my second sem, I realised that my calculator was missing.. I was looking for it everywhere…high and low… up and down…. Turned my room topsy-turvy , but I couldn’t find it… Looked for it in my laptop bag and other bags countless times… I tried and tried then I gave up…Bought a new calculator… After a month or so, just last last week, while I was packing to come back to Sitiawan, guess what? I found it in my laptop bag…I swear I couldn’t find the calculator in that bag before that…It like appeared out of thin air… Damn it..Now, I have two EX570 ES calculators…zzz

Another true story,I was fetching this person, let’s name him Mr. A X.. I teased him about this girl, let’s call her W Z…( pretty obvious huh?) So, what happened was, Mr. A X said it’s been so long now but he and W Z didn’t have, what you call ‘jodoh’ / chemistry…So,I told him that if you want something/one really badly, you won’t get it…In other words, let things fall into place by themselves… There is no need to rush things.. Just see what happens..I’m not saying that you literally see and do nothing like hoping money will drop from the sky… However, you still need to do something in order to accomplish something..So, don’t hope and dream too much, give it a shot, your best shot, and if it still doesn’t work out, that’s all that you can do…

haha…blah blah blah..crapping…. my first full text post…urgh… back to hw hw hw…
